Responsibilities
The Group Executive & Engineering Director maintains the Accountable Manager position and is responsible to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for ensuring that all operations and maintenance activities can he financed and carried out to the standard required by the CAA. The Group Executive & Engineering Director provides overall business support to the Chief Executive Officer and deputises when applicable, while holding responsibility for ensuring that the engineering organisation delivers safe and certifiable aircraft and having oversight of the engineering strategy, resource management, technical execution, certification activities, and coordination between engineering teams, leadership, regulators, and customers.
Post Holder
Shaun has over 48 years’ experience in the helicopter industry and remains a CAA Licensed Aircraft Engineer. He began his career in the military before going on to achieve senior management positions and directorships in several organisations. He originally joined the PLM Dollar Group in 1990, became a Board member in 2005 then left in 2009 to join Bond Air Services (subsequently to become Mission Critical Services (MSC) Onshore – Babcock). Shaun held a number of senior roles within MSC, including Director of Ground Operations and Director of Engineering. In 2020 Shaun returned to PDG in the role of Group Executive & Engineering Director before taking on the Chief Executive role in 2023. In April 2026, Shaun transition to the Group Executive & Engineering Director as part of a planned leadership transition and in support of the Chief Executive.
