PDG Aviation Services and Rotex AG have once again joined forces on the Blackcraig Windfarm 132kV HDWP Overhead Line on behalf of Scottish Power Energy Networks with Voltcom as the overhead line contractor.

Utilising the K-1200 K-Max Helicopter, airlifting up to 2.7 tonnes of poles and steel structures to over 120 pole positions, the team completed the operation in just 3 days.

Works continue with the AS350 Single Squirrel Helicopter airlifting loads up to 1 tonne including; poles, insulators, aggregate and wood blocks.

The line is to be fully constructed and ready for energising by the 19^th December.

The use of these two differing, proven airframes highlights the flexibility of the PDG Aviation Services in providing aircraft suitable to task which enables considerable cost and time savings over other methods.
